The 100Mbps iConverter
2FXM and the Gigabit iConverter 2GXM
are fiber to fiber Ethernet media converters and Network Interface
Devices (NIDs) with integrated management. They are also managed
optical switches that function as fiber repeaters. The iConverter
2FXM and 2GXM support dual or single fiber and feature Standard and
CWDM Small Form Pluggable (SFP) fiber transceivers.
The 2FXM and the 2GXM support 802.3ah and Secure OAM (IP-less)
management, and features VLAN technology with Q-in-Q to enable E-LAN
and E-Line services, QoS prioritization for voice/data/video over
Ethernet, Port Access Control and Bandwidth Control. |

Omnitron’s Small Form Pluggable (SFP) fiber
transceivers provide flexible fiber connectivity for the iConverter
10/100M, GX/TM, 2FXM and 2GXM Network Interface Devices.
Omnitron SFPs provide specific fiber network and wavelength
requirements, including single or dual fiber, single-mode, multimode
and Coarse Wave Division Multiplexing (CWDM).
Based on the MSA SFF-8472 standard, Omnitron SFPs support digital
diagnostic capability, providing enhanced diagnostic information to
assist network administrators with network maintenance and management.
SNMP management software, such as NetOutlook,
can collect enhanced, real-time diagnostic information including fiber
optic Tx power, Rx power, voltage and SFP transceiver temperature. |

| The
iConverter 1-Module Redundant Power Chassis is designed for
mission-critical Enterprise applications and demarcation of Ethernet
services at the Customer Premises. The chassis supports multiple power
sources, configurable 10/100 Ethernet ports and a wide variety of
alarm options—making it ideal for locations where power is
unavailable or costly to install, or where the monitoring of external
events is required. Power source options include load-sharing
combinations of Power over Ethernet (PoE), 9-24VDC and 24-60VDC. When
used as a PoE device, the chassis is powered through one of the 10/100
network ports from a Power Source Equipment (PSE) such as a switch or
a Mid-Span power injecting device. |

The iConverter
10/100M and GX/TM are self-managed copper-to-fiber media converters
and Network Interface Devices designed for Enterprise edge, FTTX and
Metropolitan Ethernet Networks. They are available as a standalone NID
that provides a securely managed demarcation point, or as a plug-in
module that can manage a chassis or be managed as a regular 10/100
media converter. They are the smallest form-factor NIDs available, and
features VLAN technology enable E-LAN and E-Line services, QoS
prioritization for voice/data/video over Ethernet.
New improvements include Small Form Pluggable transceivers and
enhanced support for 802.3ah and Secure OAM management. |

The 1 inch high iConverter 1-Module Chassis uses an external AC/DC power adapter, is tabletop or wall-mountable and supports a single iConverter module. It is ideal for managed or unmanaged Fiber-to-the-Premises or Fiber-to-the-Desktop applications where flexibility and modularity are important. Models 8241-1 and 8241-2 support Dying Gasp functionality.
The iConverter 2-Module Managed NID Chassis features a single internal universal AC or 18-60VDC power supply and an Ethernet backplane for connectivity between installed modules.
The Ethernet backplane enables compact and flexible solutions for delivering multiple managed ports from a fiber uplink. |

The 1U (1.75 inch) high iConverter 5-Module Managed Chassis can be mounted in a 19-inch or 23-inch rack and features
dual redundant, load-sharing power supplies.
The 2U (3.5 inch) high iConverter 19-Module Managed Chassis can be
mounted in a 19-inch or 23-inch rack and features triple redundant,
load-sharing power supplies.
Both chassis supports universal AC, 24VDC or 48VDC power supplies that
are hot-swappable and can be used in any combination. The high-density, 19-Module Chassis
and the 5-Module chassis feature an Ethernet backplane for connectivity between iConverter modules, and is ideal for the core of the enterprise, Central Office (CO), or Point of Presence (POP) applications where reliability and space are critical. |

| The iConverter NMM provides SNMP, Telnet or
serial port management to the iConverter product line. The NMM is
capable of fault-tolerant management of up to nineteen cascaded (daisy chained) chassis from a single IP address, or eighteen remote chassis via Remote OAM management. The NMM
continuously polls for status, reports information and configures the parameters of its managed modules as instructed by the network management software (such as
NetOutlook). The NMM generates traps reporting special events, including module insertion or removal, link-up or down, power and temperature range violations. Traps can be sent to eight different
trap host locations. These features give the network administrator the ability to monitor, control and be alerted when unusual events occur, ensuring reliable network functionality. |

Managing a chassis and its modules requires the installation of an iConverter Network Management Module (NMM) or media converter with built-in management in the chassis. NetOutlook supports IP-based and Remote OAM (Secure IP-less or 802.3ah) management of iConverter Network Interface Devices.
Using NetOutlook, network managers can monitor network status, configure module parameters and receive user-specified traps. |

The iConverter 4Tx and 4TxVT are compact, managed 4-port 10/100 Ethernet Switches with backplane ports for expansion to adjacent modules. They provide true plug-and-play capability with
Auto-negotiation and Auto-crossover features that eliminate the need for manual port configuration and crossover cables. When used in a 2 or 5-Module Chassis with a self-managed fiber converter NID module, the 4Tx and 4TxVT provide managed, high-density NIDs with copper hand-offs from a fiber uplink. They can also be used as unmanaged standalone switches in a 1-Module iConverter chassis.
The iConverter 4Tx features Port VLAN, Port Access Control and reporting of MIB Statistics.
The 4TxVT extends the capabilities of the 4Tx with per-port based Bandwidth Control and support of the IEEE 802.1Q VLAN (including Q-in-Q multi-stacking) and the IEEE 802.1p QoS standards. |
